Crescent Moon Day Use Area is one of the most popular sites in the Coconino National Forest for picnicking, swimming, swimming, and hiking. Many people are also drawn to this area for its photogenic appeal. One of the best views of the famous Cathedral Rock can be found in this area, especially at sunset.

General Directions

From Uptown Sedona, drive west on Hwy 89A. On the outskirts of town, turn left down Upper Red Rock Loop Rd and follow the signs for Red Rock Crossing (about 1.5 miles).
